Forever Wild South Africa is the brainchild of a group of like-minded individuals who all have an overwhelming passion for the preservation of pangolins and all our other indigenous wildlife in South Africa. After establishing that there was a lack of structured collaboration between all the different organisations, Forever Wild South Africa was created to assist and help educate the communities that would then be able to put that learnings into effective action to help conserve Pangolins and all other Wildlife.

OUR PROJECTS

DONATE TOWARDS A SHEPhERD WALKING BAG

Pangolins do not eat in captivity; therefore, part of their rehabilitation process is many hours walking in the field with a Shepherd. It is this shepherd's role to follow the pangolins as they walk and forage around in the field and help compromised pangolins maintain good temperatures on hot days, help dig for food, provide water and a safe environment.

A Shepherd's bag is useful in the field, a spray bottle to cool them down, a collapsible bowl for water, lights safely placed on the pangolin for monitoring as well as tracking tags. Our shepherd's bag will also contain a red headlight for night walks, a small towel to cover the pangolin, a water bottle, small spade, umbrella, mosquito net and space for other items

RELEASE TAGS

AWT IR-SAT and VHF Ground Pangolin Tags. After extensive rehabilitation, pangolins move onto their next step of relocation and release. A suitable area is found on a reserve where the pangolin will be monitored over a period of months until It is deemed fit and ready to be set free into the wild.

Telemetry and Satellite tags are needed for the monitoring of the pangolins location and movements around the area.
